Hold Two In Jail

George Wilson of Detroit was arrested in Savanna on a theft charge after boarding a train without paying fare. He appeared before Police Magistrate Wayne Hartney and received a 10 day county jail sentence. The 48th Senneff reunion met at Lawrence Park Sterling on Sunday with 36 members present. Dinner was served family style. Two Injured in Fall From Roof of Barn

Dan Kness and Ronald Starr of Thomson were injured last Thursday when they fell from the roof of a barn on Don Mackay's south farm two miles northwest of Chadwick. Kness suffered a back fracture several broken ribs and a shoulder injury while Starr broke his right wrist. Both were treated by a Chadwick physician. Kness later went to a hospital and returned home Tuesday.

Family dinner hosts and guest list at Gordon home

Chadwick sat Mr and Mrs Ronald Helms and daughters were among guests entertained for a family dinner last one in the home of Mr and Mrs Charles Gordon. Mr and Mrs Morton Higley spent Sunday in Warren in the Jack Coleman home, while Mr and Mrs Coleman took their daughter to the LaRiBida sanitorium in Chicago for treatment. Her case diagnosed as rheumatoid arthritis. Sunday dinner guests in the home of Mr and Mrs Charles Gordon Sr were Staff Sgt Don Gordon home on leave, Mrs Charles Gordon Jr and sons of Coldwater Michigan, Mrs Vernon Gordon and family. Afternoon guests were Mr and Mrs Dale Baker and Laurie of Decatur and Mr and Mrs Herman Mennenga of Milledgeville. Mr and Mrs John Soll en berger will quietly observe their 45th anniversary Sunday, tell July 1.

Organize Young Republican Club In Carroll County

Temporary officers for a Carroll County unit were appointed this year as the Young Republican Club organizes locally. A 60 foot silo was built on the Mrs. John G Freeman farm between Mt. Carroll and Chadwick on Route 88, along with a 40 by 64 feet metal machine shed and a 30 by 82 feet cemented feeding and finishing shed with a 20 foot paved feeding floor. The latter includes a feeding bank and automatic wagon unloader for hog finishing and stock growth, with a straw hay loft and cattle guard. Tenant on the farm is Romain Kimpe.

Funeral services were held for Charles Stanley Davenport 8 son of Mr and Mrs Charles S Davenport of Savanna at Law funeral home. He died after a heavy bridge timber fell on him while playing near a private lane to the Earl Randecker farm north of Savanna.
