Pastor Wesley Feldwisch dies after long ministry
The Rev. Wesley S. Feldwisch, 61, a retired Methodist minister, died Friday June 2 at his Rockford home where he had lived since retirement about a year. He served pastorates in Rockford Thomson Savanna Milledgeville Poplar Grove Shirland Chicago Pearl City Capron and Genoa over 31 years. He was born November 11 1882 in Holland Indiana and earned degrees from Baldwin Wallace College and Garrett Biblical Institute. His widow Zoe H. Feldwisch survives. Funeral was held Monday at Burpee Wood Funeral Home Rockford with burial in Lanark Cemetery.

Capture Snakes for Elgin Park From Elizabeth Area
Roy Demmin of Elgin gathers rattlesnakes near Elizabeth each spring for Elgin Park. He collected fourteen rattlers two bull snakes and one blue racer and notes snakes shed skins up to three times yearly. He explains rattlesnakes are not aggressive and that bites occur only when cornered or hungry.

Mexican track worker drowns in Mississippi near Savanna
Gregorio Sanchez Robel, Mexican laborer for the Burlington railroad, drowned Sunday afternoon in a Mississippi river slough near Mareux about seven miles north of Savanna. His body was recovered two hours later after an inquest returned a verdict of accidental drowning.
