Alumni Elect Ronald Bull New President of Association
The Thomson area community notes Ronald Bull was elected president of the alumni association for the coming year at a dinner and dance. Dean Robison became vice president, Mary Waltrip secretary, and Maria Eslinger treasurer. About 250 attended the dance with the Notables of Chadwick and Warren Grey providing music. Perfect attendance awards were given to numerous high and junior high students across grades. Memorial Day ceremonies included the Thomson American Legion, Scouts, and a wreath on a white cross.

Scouts Plan Weekend Camp at Far Horizons
Sixteen Junior Girl Scouts from Thomson troop will camp at Far Horizons near Hanover this weekend. They depart Friday at 2 30 PM and return Sunday afternoon. Senior Scouts from Savanna oversee the encampment and supervise over 80 Girl Scouts from Neighbor hood troops. Each girl should bring church clothes spending money and a tin Band Aid Box plus other camping needs.

Lawrence Bruckner, a future senior at the local high school and son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bruckner, won an all expense scholarship to the National Agricultural Youth Institute in Lincoln Nebraska August 14 to 25. One Illinois representative chosen at the Governor’s office request, the program includes seminars, practical experience, 4-H camp, host farm exchanges, and tours of Sand Hills cattle ranch.

On April 1 1967 a volunteers group formed to assist Savanna City Hospital staff in feeding patients. Fifty eight women including four high school girls have volunteered. Co chairs Mrs Lawrence A Smith Jr and Mrs Dwight Nicol of Savanna. A meeting for area volunteers is set for Sunday June 4 1967 with a tea at 2 00 pm in St Peters Lutheran Church fellowship hall Savanna Illinois. A business meeting and officer election will follow. Women are needed to feed patients mend linens and regulate visiting hours.

Jefferson LaShelle three a passenger in Lloyd Abell's car was injured in a two car crash on Illinois 84 at Fulton’s edge.
