Carroll County Fair history marks twelve years of growth
The Carroll County Fair began in 1952 on Charles Schell’s farm with a two day event and $10 000 in premiums. By 1956 it extended to five days with a calf scramble backed by eight county banks. The fair expanded grounds, added buildings, shows, and new features including the Shetland Pony Show, Monarch Midway, and a permanent stage.
