Cordova's Early Pioneers and Growth Through 19th Century
Cordova grew from a frontier settlement to a flourishing river town between Isa and 1870. Pioneers A Rathburne Theo Butcher John Furstall and Dr Baker shaped its housing and school system. The village formed churches, a post office in 1889, and a four room school by 1868, later evolving into a modern high school and library with strong community leaders and emerging industries.
