Mississippi flood waters threaten Clinton and Thomson river areas
Mississippi flood crept to the 21 foot level at Clinton Iowa while back waters neared record highs on the western edge of Thomson. Public parks and riverfront homes on Potter's Row and north of Riverview flooded as winds fanned the rising waters. Residents assisted with sandbagging and evacuations, keeping Highway 84 open via detours as Cattail Road to Fulton remained flooded.
