Two Fulton Men Face Charges In Carroll Co Court
Two Fulton youths were arraigned in Carroll County court on tampering with a motor vehicle. Scott Abbott pleaded guilty to tampering and was bound over on a statutory rape charge after arrest by Sheriff Harry Miller. Sidney Stoker pleaded guilty to tampering but the court did not accept the plea. Hearing on both charges was continued to Aug. 4. The sheriff noted the pair allegedly drove Robert Daniels’ truck over an embankment near the Plum River southwest of Savanna on February 15.

Voters in Carroll County will choose on July 21 at the ASC office in Mt. Carroll from 8 am to 6 pm whether to adopt marketing quotas for the 1961 wheat crop. Two Boys Run Away From Youth Camp At Palisades Park
Carroll county sheriff's office and state police were notified Monday night that two 17 year olds, Larry Forena and Chester Jurkowski, ran from the Illinois Youth Camp at Palisades state park around 9 30 PM. A 1956 Chevrolet four door sedan, two tone green, stolen from Savanna dealer R J Caron's home, is believed to be taken by the runaways. No trace of the boys was found Tuesday morning.
