The months of July August and September have new timing. Thomson Junior high and Senior high classes will test Wednesday evenings at 7 00 p.m. on July 14. Substitute teachers will teach in the Sunday school.

Charles Hersey 78 a former resident of Thomson died Wednesday in a Manoketa Iowa nursing home after a long illness He was a Savannah native Funeral services are set for Friday at 2 00 p m at Law Jones funeral home with burial in Savanna Township cemetery Survivors include his widow Elmar Clinton Iowa a daughter Mary Percy Aberdeen and two sons Charles and Vee meet leat at home
The Thomson PTA executive board will meet Thursday evening July 25 at 7 30 p.m. in the cafeteria with Mrs Eugene Halfman presiding. Board members are urged to attend this important meeting. The Mervin Marshalls returned from a ten day vacation visiting Lake of the Ozarks Shepherd of the Hills Eureka Springs Arkansas and the Bagnell Dam reporting no mosquitoes due to the region spraying by the light and power company. They noted abundant birdlife including cardinals robins and quails despite spraying.

Clarence J. Davis 64 of Thomson died early Monday in Morrison Community General Hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Allen Funeral Home Sterling with Rev. Kenneth Mortenson presiding. Burial was in Oak Knoll Memorial Park. Davis was born May 21 1904 in Elkpoint SD to Jeremira B and Sarah Ann Cowell Davis. He married Vera Jones November 30 1932 in Geddes SD and was a construction worker before retirement. He leaves wife Vera one son Clarence J. Davis Jr of Ft Collins CO six daughters Arlie Emerson Eleanor Crowe Kay Wilkins Norma Holloway Marion Marlett Christine Smith four sisters and one brother plus 24 grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents three brothers one sister and one grandchild.
Mr and Mrs Ralph Bielema of Chadwick purchased the Leman W Swett property on West Main Street in Thomson.
