Catholic church announces regular services next Sunday at 8 30 in the morning. Parishioners are invited to attend.
The Live-Wire class party is moved to Wednesday evening February 3 with Miss Sylvia Griswold as hostess. The ladies aid society will meet next Thursday with Mrs. Frank Smith. Sunday school resumes next Sunday morning at 10 o'clock.
Sixteen members of the ladies aid society met Wednesday with Mrs. Sarah Grahaming. A luncheon of sandwiches donuts and coffee was served by the January committee. The aid met again Wednesday at the same place. Services next Sunday include preaching at 9:30 a.m. and Sunday school at 10:80 a.m.
Henry Knuisen of DeWitt spent days last week with his son Hans Knuisen and family. Miss Mary Katherine Strauch and Vaughn Gaar of Mt. Carroll visited here Sunday. Mrs Ida Weber stays with her daughter and family. Miss Hilda Pape returned home from Savant to her parents. Dite Switzer and others attend Farmer's meeting at Rockford with Frank Lowden as main speaker. St. Grex and Bennett families visit Davenport over weekend. Frances Switzer of Falton visits aunt and will begin pursey training at Wesley Memorial in Chexgo.
Chestnut Park scholars performed a program for the Savanna Rotary Club, led by Principal Herbert Rawlins and Teacher Miss Francis Yates. The event showcased seventh and eighth grade students with songs, dances, and regional presentations while highlighting school work and progress.

A group gathered at Mr and Mrs Hans Knutsens home for his 56th birthday with twenty attendees. Cards were played, honors announced for top scorers, and light refreshments served. Out of town guests included Alvin Knutsen of Clinton and Mr and Mrs Clay Ritenour of Fulton.
K B Carpenter was guest of honor at a two surprise party Tuesday evening at his home for his 64th birthday. About 500 attended the event hosted by Mrs Ella Orr who served luncheon of chicken salad sandwiches pickles coffee angel food cake and ice. Attendees included Mr and Mrs Charles Beck Mr and Mrs R Houghten Mr and Mrs John Carpenter Mr and Mrs L B Sears and Mr and Mrs B R Lewis.
The Shipping Association shipped gatlosd of stock to Chicago on Tuesday. Names listed include Harry Gant, Joe Dykstra, Ren Dykstra, and Berton Hollinshead among others. The association will receive a tar 3 Toad of feed next week. Bill Stumphy and Paul Stage visited relatives over the weekend.
Miss Erma Boothby of near Wacker III is confined at home with infantile paralysis. Her left leg is paralyzed and she is seriously ill. She fell ill after attending classes at Frances Shimer School and was taken home by her mother. Dr. Terner diagnosed the illness and notified county and state authorities. The Bert Hicks home where she roomed has been quarantined as a precaution. Mt Carroll authorities report no broader alarm in the county.
County Agent M. P. Roske will lead a York Center school meeting on Wednesday February 3 at 7 30 PM to organize a boys 4 H club and present a talk titled The Control of the Bot Fly. The event invites all interested men and families.
Elaine Bielema daughter of Prof and Mrs Martin B clerrs of Pearl TIL was observed in Grand Rapids. She was brought home but her condition did not improve and was taken to Freeport hospital Wednesday.
The Thomson town team meets Port Byron in Prophetstown at 8 30 pm Thursday while the Chadwick All Stars face Thomson in Chadwick gym Saturday at 7 30 pm as prelim to Chadwick high school. Fulton beat Thomson 28 15 on local floor. Thomson seconds lost 14 8. Port Byron game at 7 30 pm Thursday. Several local residents suffer minor ailments. updates on health and travel noted.
Mrs Garrett Bolhous died Monday after months of illness at Fulton. She leaves four children and was active in home store church and community affairs. Services were held at the Christian Reformed Church in Fulton with many paying respects as the church overflowed. Interment followed in Fulton.
Garrett Bothous widow of Chadwick area farmer turned grocer, born in the Netherlands in 1885, immigrated 1901. She married Garrett Bothous in 1905 in Ustick township, four children, active in Thomson church and T N T society. Died January 25, 1932, age 47, after illness. Survived by husband, children, sisters, brothers, and parents. Funeral notes and faith references.

The family expresses deep gratitude for the many acts of kindness shown during the illness of their wife and mother. They thank Thomson merchants for flowers and all who helped. Special thanks to Ker Buck the Sagers and others who provided cars and flowers. A brief service followed at home and the Christian Reformed church with several singers and Rev A Bik officiating.
Mr and Mrs Bill Ritenoor announce the birth of a daughter Marian Luella born Saturday January 23 at their home. Mrs Ritenoor formerly Alvis Kase.
Harry T. Stahl of Freeport former mayor and longtime civic leader runs as a Republican candidate for state senator. He has served as alderman, mayor, and held roles with the Illinois Municipal League and constitutional convention delegate. Stahl heads Charles E. Meyer & Co. and is active in farming and several fraternal and civic organizations. He is married with four children.
