Yorkshire Type Conference at Pecatonica This January
A three day Yorkshire Type Conference will be held at the Winnebago County Fairgrounds January 24 to 26. A record 287 head of pigs have been entered from 21 states. Saturday morning features a judging contest and type discussion, with the National Sale of Breeding Stock starting at 1:00 PM.

Boat RenewalCertificates Due in Illinois
Springfield Ill Jan 7 two orange and white decals will accompany each boat renewal certificate issued by the Motor Boat License Division. Illinois Department of Conservation director William T Lodge says decals prove compliance with renewal rules and should be displayed to the right of the boat number to deter police stops. About 100000 registrations will be renewed this year. renewals are dated three years from the current expiration and require a $3 fee.

Veterans urged to apply for 1963 pension benefits in Illinois
Illinois Veterans Commission Administrator Edward B. Akin announced pension payments for 1963 may range from 25 to 100 dollars monthly based on annual income and repayment amounts. Widows qualify by income and net worth alone. Veterans or widows with future income should contact local offices. Mt Carroll office serves Carroll County with service officer Tuesdays 9:30 to 3:30. Airman Third Class Robert L. Law of Mount Carroll, Illinois, is reassigned from Amarillo AFB Texas to Suffolk County AFB New York after completing a fuel supply technician training course.
