Million Dollar Savanna Home Silent Behind Locked Doors
A large elderly care project in Savanna named Big Meadows Inc has stalled after years of planning and funding hurdles. Court records show land purchase in 1964, a 1966 mortgage of 1.07 million dollars, FHA involvement, a 1968 loan modification and a mechanic's lien amid delays and financial strain on the not for profit venture. The vacant mansion stands finished but unused as the community hoped for a care facility.
