Last Rites For Conrad Heinze Held Saturday
Funeral services were held for Conrad E. Heinze, 59, retired Mt. Carroll area farmer, at 1 30 p m in Frank funeral home. Rev Theodore Mahnke officiated with burial in Oakville cemetery Salem township. He died February 9 in Deaconess hospital Freeport after a heart ailment. He was born November 21 1900 near Mt Carroll, son of William and Elisa Voecker Heinze. He married Belle Hinebaugh April 6 1932. Surviving are his widow two brothers William G and Adam both of Mt Carroll and a sister Mrs Lyle Greeley of Thomson.

Slippery Roads Blamed For Series Of Accidents
A string of auto crashes blamed on deep drifts and packed ice closed lanes and led to several injuries and vehicle damage. Highway crews press snow removal, with schools operating on schedule and most bus routes covered. Two lane traffic returned on major routes as bulldozers and track tractors cleared drifts, while rural roads remained partly blocked. Turmoil Railroad Conductor Crist Dies at Savanna
The body was taken to Law Funeral Home for burial arrangements. John Crist born February 1887 in Savanna, son of John and Mrs. Crist, married to Elsie Ruth Kahlen Noy of Marion Iowa. Retired in 1957 from Milwaukee Railroad conductor duties. Survived by four sons Bernard, Stanley, Robert, William all of Savanna and 15 grandchildren. Wife Elsie predeceased him November 4 1956. One son died in infancy.
