Carroll County Supervisors Tackle Raccoon Nuisance and Road Paint
At the February Carroll County board meeting, supervisors urged the state to extend raccoon hunting season citing an overabundance and nuisance. They considered painting center lines on roads after learning Stephenson and Ogle counties' mileage and costs. The plan to rent line-painting equipment was sent to the highway committee. Transfers between funds were approved and Dr. Lee W. Derrer reported 236 dogs destroyed in 1963.
