Early County School Commissioner Records and Notable Holders
1914 notes indicate S C Campbell as the last county surveyor later county official. The office appears as School Commissioner in early records with Garner Moffett reporting from 1849 to his 1855 death. Hollingsworth chaired the Board then, Wheeler left in 1857 and De Wolf later became a State Representative. Bailey’s clerk records show annual financial reports by the Commissioner, who oversaw loan funds from sales.
