The schedule includes The Great Mail Robbery, Krazy Kat Komedy, The Isle of Forgotten Women, Flying A Ranch, Beauty Parlor Comedy, newsreels, and nightly showings with prices 15 and 35 cents.
Sunday evening Mrs. Dempsey Anderson tripped returning to the house and struck her face on a porch wood, cutting deeply near an eye and bruising her body. The injury compounds past damage to her hand from last summer, leaving her unable to fully recover.
Argo FA Miss Verna Guinther has been ill with a severe cold and has been unable to attend school the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Puterbaugh spent one day last week in Rockford visiting relatives. Mrs. Hattie Kneale returned home Sunday after spending a few days with her daughter, Mrs. Bert Nelson of Coleta. Miss Vivian Sack spent the week end with Miss Dorothy Slick of Mt. Carroll. Quite a number from this vicinity attracted the literary program Tuesday evening given by the students of the High School at Thomson. A nice sum of money was taken in by the A. R. class of the M. E. Sunday school, they having held a pastry sale Saturday at Mr. Carroll's store. Mrs. Grace Moyer has gone to Freeport where she will take a position. Mrs. Hadley Salton of Savanna was a recent visitor with friends in Thomson and assisted as Installation officer at a lodge meeting.
Spring Valley Presbyterian Missionary Society entertained atop the church on Tuesday afternoon. Hostesses were Mrs. AL OB Durward Mrs. James Green and Mrs. J. BR. McCullagh. Other local visits included Rev Hurseth over the weekend and families visiting relatives in Fulton Cordova Hillsdale and Dixon. Norma Jeanne Slaughter born at Jane Lamb hospital to Gladys Durward Slaughter.
Sterling resident Medard Woodruff, long known in the community and widely connected through life insurance polices, died at his home last Saturday from paralysis. He will be sincerely missed by neighbors and friends.
Clarence Bolnous and Ren Mar Ins plan to visit the Acto Show today. They will travel in a Chrysler and expect to stay a couple of days.
