Clinton man John W. French dies of heart attack at 64
John W. French 64 of Clinton died after a heart attack. He was chief engineer at Clinton Manufacturing Co. in Camanche, formed in 1946 and now owned by Fairbanks Morse. Born Feb 22, 1897, he married Jennie Chesbro in 1925. He is survived by wife, three sons and two daughters, two half brothers, a half sister, and relatives. Funeral arrangements pending in Clinton.

Irvin Lewis Dies After Ten Weeks Ill at 73
Irvin M. Lewis 73, prominent Walnut citizen and former Thomson resident, died Monday afternoon at Perry Memorial Hospital Princeton after a ten week illness. Born July 28 1888 in Thomson, he moved to Walnut in 1910 and was WW I veteran. He served as Walnut postmaster 1933 1954 and had a career in insurance. He is survived by his widow Ra mona Livey, a son Ned, two daughters Ervine Hiers and Jane Snyder, six grandchildren, two brothers Paul and Norman, and a sister Sylvia. He was predeceased by parents and siblings. Funeral at Walnut Methodist Church Thursday at 2 p m.
