Births Exceed Deaths in Carroll County July Totals

July in Carroll County saw more births than deaths. County Clerk Walter Watson reports sixteen deaths and births favoring births by two. Notable deaths include 83 year olds Saint Louie Dyson of Thomson and Morris W. Copley of Mt Carroll pol. The youngest death was a month old infant of Mr and Mrs Oscar Whipple. Four non natural deaths occurred including drownings, a fall at a Mt Carroll home, and one self inflicted. Birth listings enumerate names and birthplaces from Shannon to Savanna with dates from July 1 to July 12.

Walter Ro Watson Carroll County Clerk reports from a convention of county officers in Danville where members passed resolutions urging Gov Horner to adopt a single tax rate of 87 1 2 cents for general and road work.
