Mrs. Sarah J. O Neal a former Thomson resident died at the Caroline Mark Home Mt Carroll April 14 1992 age 88 She operated a millinery and dress shop in Thomson and Savanna later cared for Mr Henry Johnson and did millinery work Her funeral was at St Pauls Episcopal church Savanna with Rev Howard B Ziegler officiating Pallbearers Dan Airhart Roy Howe L L Gydexon L S Bowen George Howe and Tom G Jenks Interment in Savanna cemetery The article notes dog damage to lawns in the area and asks owners to cooperate.
The York Commercial club schedules a special Friday meeting at the high school gym to protest contractors using material and labor from other states on Route 80 paving from Thomson to Antany. The village held a quiet election with the Quiet-People's Party sweep of all offices including village clerk. Folks gathered at the Newell home in Thomset to celebrate Mrs Marie Newell s 78th birthday. Attendees included Mr and Mrs Ross Gleason Mrs Harman Stakemillar now of Morrison Mrs due Turney and Mrs Kyle Rawlins among others.
Ten acres of the Zook property near the Thomson State Bank was sold at public auction last Monday April 18. Kennedy of Vans purchased the land for 125 dollars.

Two improvements at the Milwaukee depot include a new brick platform over the old stretch and rebuilt stock yards with four new pens. The pens replace board and plank walls with heavy woven wire, making the yards look better and more convenient.
Mrs. Jerry Doty of Chicago spent the weekend with her mother. Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Strauch and others from Gardenplain visited Iowa City on Wednesday. Lodges Bluebell Camp No 438 RON met Tuesday at the lodge hall with teenizy members present. The seal committee served angel food cake fruit salad and coffee. They planned Mothers Day May third with an all day meeting and a noon dinner. Committee members include Bertha Holland Lalu Hox Bibel Potter Alvem Wilt Margaret Lateren Martha Balk and Hiamtie Fotun.

York native Wim W. Smith died suddenly at his Argo home April 15 1982 aged 57 years 10 months 29 days. He lived in York most of his life building a home in Argo in 1919 with his mother and brother George. Survived by mother two brothers George Fred and Wilbur Hall of Jersey City nieces and nephews. Funeral held at his late home with Rev H Leitner officiating Psalm 23 and Deuteronomy 5 25 cited.

John K Lorenzen of Hollywood California arrived Monday to visit his father Mrs Sophia Lorenzen in the Cummings home at Pulser Miss Ree Casselberts who taught this year as Vinegar Fill will teach next year at Hickory Grove. Her salary will be 70 pounds per month for eight calendar months Mr and Mrs Ges Samppy and son of Cisson came trendy for several days at the home of Mr Albert.
