Food commodities delivery schedule announced in Illinois
The Illinois Department of Public Aid said federal food commodities will be distributed on regular schedules through June in 25 counties including Carroll County. The Food Stamp Program will replace commodities distribution in July in these counties.

Thomson men charged in court in Carrol County
Richard Bruhn aged 37 of Thomson appeared in Carrol County court on charges of serving beer to a minor providing alcohol to a minor and contributing to the sexual delinquency of a child. He is remanded to the county jail after failing to post bond with a hearing set for April 19. Archie Spencer 19 of Thomson was charged with possession of alcohol as a minor. Both were arrested Sunday afternoon in their Thomson apartment by Sheriff Harry Y. Miller.

One Car Accident Hospitalizes Driver
The Chadwick fire department and ambulance responded to a one car crash Saturday morning near Morrison on Route 78. Driver Mrs. Shirley Beyers of Rock Falls lost control, struck an electric light pole, and was transported by ambulance to Sterling Community General Hospital in Sterling.

Funeral Services Held Wednesday For Mrs George Daehler
Mrs Pearl Daehler, 78, former Chadwick resident, died Sunday in Clinton County Nursing Home Charlotte Iowa. Funeral held 10 am Wednesday at Frank Funeral Home Chadwick with Rev Kenneth Levi officiating. Burial in Chadwick cemetery. Survived by son Albert Clinton and several nieces and nephews.

Supervisor joins 24 hour fallout shelter drill in Ottawa
Merlyn Schreiner of Chadwick Saem township and Carroll County Board of Supervisors chaired a 24 hour fallout shelter drill in Ottawa with 90 adults and about 36 children. Participants endured 1000 calories daily plus water and candy drops while learning shelter operation and survival practices for possible radiation fallout.
