Heavy vote forecast in Carroll county towns as seven cities and villages set April 16 ballots for full officer slates. Ward Weidman’s herd led with 1210 pounds milk and 37.9 fat per cow. Stransdale No 1 next at 990 pounds milk and 35.0 fat. Edwin Keim’s herd third with 303 pounds milk and 34.1 fat. Ren Williamson fourth at 845 pounds milk and 31.7 fat.
A revival of the soldiers and sailors reunion will be held in Savanna on July 3 and 4. Rhene B. Law was elected general chairman at a Savanna meeting. The two day event will invite soldiers and sailors from a larger area, with a program likely including parades, bands, drum and bugle corps, concessions, river sports, and contests.
Mt Carroll and Lanark bands win district ratings to qualify for state contest in Urbana May. Band groups, sight reading results, and solo ensemble winners listed with multiple lakes including DeKalb Freeport Rock Island and Bradford. Parade canceled due to weather. Sterling hosts next district event with officers elected.
County supervisors discuss a county wide road project using relief labor to improve rural roads. The plan pools equipment and funds about 960,000 worth of materials, aims to place many farmers on hard roads within a year, and would reduce unemployment while expanding access to within a mile of every farmer.
Word from Savanna indicates the Palisades state park CCC camp will relocate to Camp Shiloh near Charleston with timing dependent on government funding. Mt Carrell and Galena will keep their camps, and Black Bank park in Rock Island moves to Lake Decatur.

An appeal to the Kres Supreme court was filed in behalf of Fred Blair, a White County farmer sentenced to be electn cated April 16 for murder. Blink was convicted ten strong am for the murder of John Harmon, one of five neighbors, who fell during Blink's rifle rampage last fall. The appeal was filed by Attorney C. G McMahon of Fullen and M. C. Rogers of Morrison.
General docket entry notes letters of administration granted to William C. Karrow, head of estate, with $200 filing and approval recorded.
Savanna holds spring merchandise fair on April 10 and 11 at Old Mill Park. Relief allocations for April announced.
