Sandridge man cuts throat in family tragedy

Jey Brown, 53, of Sandridge, died from a single clean knife wound to the throat after an apparent domestic dispute with cousin Frank. Brown had suffered illness for years and was cared for by family. burial at Thomson Church of Christ followed services led by Rev. Livingston.

Thomson Triumph Over Savanna In Narrow Victory

The Thomson basketball team outplayed Savanna with speed and team work, but Savanna won by free throws. Wilt fouled late, Reese Sanic and others scored to clinch for Savanna as Thomson’s run ended on their home court. Lanark Milledgeville Fulton also won or lost varied by margin in the region.

Yo High School Weekly Letter Report of a close 17 to 16 game

The Yo High School team edged Savenne 17 to 16 after a tense first half with rough play. Both squads played hard and the second quarter saw a close battle as Yo held on to win. A second game featured Ancien Antibes, the high poll team, defeating their opponents 24 to ? later to see. A lively program with dancing, talks, and comic features was planned for Sunday night February 22 with student performances and a Lincoln talk.

Calendar Of Church Events For The Week

Royal Neighbors meet at Masonic hall February

Blue Bell Camp No. 438 Royal Neighbors of America held its regular meeting in Masonic hall on Tuesday February 18 with 24 members present. The relief committee reported many sick were remembered with fruit flowers letters or ecards. Harriett Kauffman was admitted as a beneficial member. The password march featured a new password. A camp physician item was postponed to next meeting. Lunch with jello whipped cream and coffee followed.

Rev Clark Williams Transfers to Mt Morris Pastorate

Rev W Clark Williams late of Savanna and Thomson and former pastor of Cherry Valley and Trene Methodist churches will become pastor at Mt Morris. The transfer takes effect March 1 as plans are formed in the Rockford district of the Rock River Methodist conference per the Mirror Democrat.
