York Community Club December banquet in Thomson
The York Community Club held its December meeting in the Church of Christ parlors with 49 attendees. Guests from Fulton included States Attorney Ralph M. Eaton and Deputy Sheriff Ed Tarnes. the evening featured a banquet, songs led by Hr. Thompson, remarks by Eaton, and thanks from Jay Fay, Dr. Thompson, and others.

PARENT TEACHERS MEETING HIGHLIGHTS LAST THURSDAY
The Parent-Teachers meeting at the gym featured a local orchestra with Louise St Ores and others. A committee was appointed to visit Savanna High School to compare equipment, while talks covered activities and general health with disease prevention and treatment notes.

500 Club At Cooper Home Prizes Awarded
At the 500 club held at Mrs. Kathryn Cooper's home on Thursday, prizes were awarded to Mrs. Mayme Miummert and Mrs. Bess Carpenter for first, Mrs. Belle Carpenter for low. Refreshments included sandwiches, pickles, salad, coffee and plum pudding with whipped cream.

Santa Claus Play Monday Night at Clinton Herald
The Clinton Herald hosted a Monday night Santa Claus program for boys and girls with Santa Claus Jim in attendance. A large turnout of adults enjoyed the event. A Porter and Stratton combination sale Saturday in Thomson drew strong interest with several head of good horses sold and more offered.

Van Buskirk pleaded guilty after delaying trial to the next term. He received a sentence of 1 to 20 years for incest and rape. He and Lister were moved to Juliet. Albert Greeley, imprisoned at Mt. Carroll for one year, seeks a new trial with a decision due in one week.

Burial Service Held for Mrs Willis Barrett at Methodist
Mrs Willis Barrett died at her Thomson home Friday December 6 after months of ill health. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon by Rev Nichol as Barretts and helpers cared for her in their Thomson residence, with interment in Dunsh ee Cemetery.

Ina Ella Chicker daughter of Louisa and Lydia Cardner Chicker born July 18 1864 in York Township Carroll County Illinois died December 6 1929 at her Thomson Illinois home aged 65 years 4 months 18 days. She married Willis Barrett of York Township in 1878 and they had one son Roy G Barrett of Sterling. A Methodist church member since childhood she suffered a paralytic stroke ten years ago and declined until death. Survived by husband son two grandsons two half sisters and a half brother. Funeral Monday at 2 pm at the Thomson Methodist Church Rev B S Nicholas officiated with Psalm readings and hymns. Interment in York Cemetery. Relatives and friends from out of town listed.
