George Douz kas longtime Winthrop town accountant died suddenly last Thursday evening at 664 Fellows Hall He was 66 and lived at 32 Somerset Avenue He served as town accountant for 28 years and was active in civic and fraternal groups including the Odd Fellows and Crystal Bay Lodge He was a member of the West Methodist Church and served as treasurer for several years Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church with local clergymen presiding.

Olean Post Guests Winthrop Legion Visitors to Boston Convention

About 40 to 50 members of the Olean New York Post of the American Legion will travel by bus to Boston for the Legion National Convention. They will stay at the Winthrop Post 146 quarters on Herman Street with cots and cooking facilities. Local police will provide showers, $300 has been appropriated to entertain the guests, and donations are invited at 461 Shisiey Street or Post headquarters.
