On Sunday evening September 13 Rev John T O'Brien united Miss Gertrude Hallam daughter of Captain and Mrs William Hallam and Mr Ralph Henry Fair son of James W Fair in Framingham Mass in the Church of St John the Evangelist The bride wore white bridal satin duchess lace veil and orange blossoms The maid of honor Miss Lydia Galassi Winthrop wore gold georgette and carried pink roses Best man was James Fair Jr The reception featured massed palms gladioli pink and old blue decor and an orchid canton crepe travelling gown
About 12,000 Elks members attended Elks Day at Braves Field to honor Norman Doxie Boeckel, killed in a California automobile crash en route to a training camp. The ceremony included a wreath placing, a parade, a U S Marines band, and a memorial tablet ceremony led by Exalted Ruler John V. O'Donnell and Lodge officers.
Robert Woodbury Irwin and Grace Horton wed at the bride’s mother home on Winthrop Street before a large gathering. Rev. William Day officiated with Miss Lovicy Irwin as bridesmaid and Clarence Horton as best man. The couple’s travel dress featured navy red and tan with a Cobtinuea hat.
