Auto Crash Near Chelsea Leaves Two Hurt

Jory Station struck a baker wagon driven by Samuel Gilman of 127 Beacon Street Chelsea, knocking off a wheel. The truck careened onto Fred Goodall’s lawn at 444 Winthrop Street, crashed into a tree, throwing driver Harold O’Connell through the windshield. Also injured were John Walsh and Harold Miller. All were taken to Metcalf Hospital. O’Connell received seven stitches and was later arrested for suspected liquor influence.

Jubilee Dinner Celebrates Republican Victory in Town

A Jubilee Dinner hosted by the Republican Town Committee will be held at the Cum House on Thursday December 9 at 7 PM with a 6 PM reception. Ed gar H Whitney chairs the committee with Charles A Colton F Temple Scott and Wm H Gardner in charge. Governor Elect Channing Cox is expected as a speaker and other notables may attend. Tickets at 3.00 are limited to 126 and must be sent by mail to Russell A Lang 73 Jefferson St. Cliff House prepared a menu and ladies are welcome.

Athens Settles Railroads Debate in Open Letter

A citizen of Athens writes to the Winthrop Review defending his stance on railroad issues. He denies personal gain and aims to clarify his published views while noting local meetings and pressures from community figures and committees involved in the debate.

Beach Storm Winds Pummel Shore Drive Flatten Pier

A strong coastal storm battered Beach section early Tuesday with high tides and gale winds. Shore Drive suffered rockfalls, homes lost fires due to floodwaters, and the Winthrop Highlands pier off Groverage was badly damaged with planking washed away and piling sound. Fire alarm failures were repaired by Chief Warren Belcher and Capt. A L Goggins. The pier damage is estimated around 3000 dollars.
