Hearings before the Department of Public Utilities on the petition of the Boston Revere Beach and Lynn railroad proceed with adjournments noted from last week. Two hearings before that body were scheduled for this week.

Winthrop High, amid a four game slide and a historic slump, is slight favorite to upset rival Revere High at Miller Field next Thursday. Odds hinge on Winthrop’s recent form against Gloucester and their head to head with Woburn while Revere mourns a key injury to full back Johnny Morelli.
Rev. Harry Belmont Hill of the First Church of Winthrop Methodist will preach a sermon this Sunday evening at 7 30 based on Lloyd Douglas new book Disputed Passage. All lovers of fiction are invited to attend.
Arthur E. Boudreau, Supt. Of Schools, named Community Chairman for Winthrop in Greater Boston's 1940 Community Fund drive. Julius J. Brayman announces the appointment. Boudreau is active civic leader, Rotary president, 1938 Boy Scout drive chairman, and adviser to Teela Wocker Camps. He holds degrees from Norwich, Boston University and Harvard.
