The article explains Christian Science as a religion based on the healing ministry of Christ Jesus, not a cure-all or blind faith. It emphasizes understanding of divine Mind and practicability for all ages and people, with continuation noted on page 2.
The Winthrop Women's Club met at Osborne Hall with Mrs Mabel Davison presiding for the Mass State Federation. A box luncheon followed and members planned the 9 65 A M Centre train ride. Classes scheduled for Nov 15 22 and 30 conclude with a Nov 30 open meeting on Initiative and Referendum led by Mrs Louis Jerome Johnson.
Company A a unit of the 15th Infantry completed its duty with 178 men serving. Three members died Lieut W H Barter Capt H W Irwin and Private Hugh J Collins. Men will quarter in the hall of the American Legion. Winthrop loses a local military company for now and a new unit is forming inviting young men to enlist.
After an orchestra selection August Schaefer played on the zither and Mrs. Maud McGarry Tibbetts performed three readings. A committee led by Edward G. Richardson plans a winter series of entertainments and dances with Ann Whiting as secretary and F Temple Scott as treasurer. Other members include Dean Freeman Herbert Clough Wallace Williams.
