The Bishop Lee Alumni Association in Boston held its 1941 42 meeting at the Bishop Lee School of the Theatre on November 2. Miss Marie Duncan presided and introduced Juniors to the alumni during a candlelight tea. Mrs Wilma Dearborn Carter of Winthrop was announced as the new Dean of the school, praised for her long service and guidance. Y M C A official Carl Wetherell spoke on preserving democracy through youth. Ernest Baxter and wife Teddy move to 17 Circuit Road.

University Choral Art Society Concert at Episcopal Parish House
Thirty five Newton patrons bought tickets for the University Choral Art Group at St Johns Episcopal Parish House on Monday evening November 17. Dr. H Augustine Smith directs the program opening with the Polyphonic School of Palestria and ending with America the Beautiful. Rites were held for William F. Chardon and Edwin F. Brown, two Winthrop youths killed when their car failed to negotiate a Saugus traffic circle. Brown had a fractured skull. Chardon a broken neck. Both were Winthrop High School graduates. Brown left a wife and two children.

Rites Held For Sidney E. Blandford Former civic leader
Funeral services were held for Sidney E. Blandford former chairman of the town advisory committee and longtime civic figure. He died last Thursday at his home and was active in local government and the Community Hospital. Survived by two daughters and a son, with his wife predeceased.

Winthrop launches a Red Cross Roll Call on Armistice Day to recruit 4500 members, more than double last year’s 2000. Supt.
