Invitations are being mailed this week by the Board of Selectmen to about forty or fifty interested town residents to attend a meeting on the coming Wednesday evening November.
The town faces 1930 proposals by Superintndent Streets Mahaney to install a granolithic sidewalk on the westerly side of Putnam Street from Jeff m Street to Pau line Street. He urges the change after curb stones were laid but not a sidewalk, citing danger to children and adults from the hard macadam street.
If every person or corporation throughout the country had done the same, nothing unusual would have happened.
The First Church of Winthrop will host a community event next Sunday afternoon November 10 inviting all townspeople. Former pastors will attend as corner stone is laid to place a copper box with donor lists and old church items for posterity. A large chorus of Sunday School children will sing old hymns under Mr and Mrs John Knudson.
Nurses recommended by the American Red Cross are on duty with the American Hospital and School of Nursing at Constantinople, in the Near East Relief program, with field staff from the Rockefeller Foundation and the Haitian School of.
Dr Julia Deming a psychiatrist will direct the Massachusetts University extension course at the Senior High School Room 7 on Tuesday afternoon November 5 at 4 o'clock. The program invites parents teachers nurses and others interested in studying childhood with the course continuing on later pages.

The board chairmen’s Monday reply reveals Winthrop’s current plans and the proposed width of Revere Street beyond Fort Banks limits.
