Qualifying Tests for Army and Navy College Training Program

Proposal To Increase School Committee Falls Voter Verdict
In Winthrop a town meeting Monday night rejected expanding the school committee from three to five members despite advisory backing. Debate featured Chairman George W. Searle and supporters James G. Abbott and William J. Marsh against opponents led by Ernest Bentley, Preston B. Churchill, and Sarah E. Whorf. Winthrop motorists with B Gasoline Ration Books expiring April 5 must present their tire inspection record to the Local Board when renewing. Under OPA rules tires were to be inspected by Feb. 28 and the record must show this inspection. No renewal book will be issued without the tire inspection notation on the record.
