The Winthrop War Work Committee hosts a reunion dinner at the Winthrop Arms on Saturday March 15 1919 at 730 pm. Hon Alvan T Fuller Speaker will display his collection of war relics. Chairman Elmer E Dawson leads the dinner committee planning a memorable event.
Lieutenant Colonel Dr Ben Metcalf returns from overseas duty and arrives in town on Friday night March 8. A large welcome organized by local officials and the Fire Department greets him at the bridge and downtown streets, with bells, flags, and cheering as he is escorted to his home.
Moderator runs through the warrant and adjourns for one week to honor the late wife of Chairman Mahaney. A resolutions committee is appointed to draft sympathy resolutions for Town records. Next Monday voters will reconvene at the Old High School to decide articles including a Main Street rebuild and a new street department automobile truck.
