Demonstration On Air Raid Precautions Set Sunday
An ARP demonstration will be shown Sunday at 2 30 in the Junior High School gym. The public and town ARP workers are invited to learn how warnings and information are transmitted from observation posts to district centers and to the public. G J Carlz of the First U S Regional Office of Civilian Defense will direct the event.

Flags to grace St Johns church at Sunday service
Flags of allied nations will be placed in St John’s Episcopal Church for a patriotic service this Sunday evening. Chaplain David H. Hickey of the United States Army will speak. The Unfurling of the Flag will be sung by choir and congregation. The public and representatives from the American Legion and town fraternal organizations are invited.

Lane resigns from Winthrop School Committee after around a decade
Everett H. Lane tendered his resignation from the Winthrop School Committee, ending nearly ten years of service. He was elected October 9, 1933 to fill a vacancy, became secretary in March 1935, and chairman in March 1936 succeeding Charles A. Williams, noted as a loss to pupils and town adults.

Fire Fighters Renovate Beach Station With Gratis Labor
Chief William Floyd reports the Beach Fire Station interior makeover by four regulars led by Lt. George E. Floyd. Floyd Everbeck Flanagan and Wickwire drew a small appropriation, tore down old stalls, repainted walls and ceilings, and brightened a 13 room second floor as part of the transformation.
