Winthrop Elks Blank Roslindale in Seventh Victory

Southpaw Jack Leary fanned 17 and allowed only two hits as the Winthrop Elks defeated Roslindale Veterans of Foreign Wars 4 to 0 at Ingleside Park for their seventh win this season. Leary, 22, held Roslindale without a baserunner to third base, while Boston College teammate Jack Bent struggled for seven innings, giving up 18 Elks hits. Leary’s 17 strikeouts set a season high and matched a notable high school mark set by Charlie DeMinico for Ingleside Park дни.
