Winthrop Golf Club Opens Links for Members
The Winthrop Golf Club announces the links will open for play on Wednesday July 4 for members in good financial standing. Six of nine holes will be in use initially with the other three added soon. A Handicap Medal Play Tournament begins at 8 15 a m under Greens Committee Chair Charles A Williams, with two divisions and prizes. A formal dedication with flag raising occurs at Brick House at noon.

Flower Day aids Winthrop nurses fund start
The Winthrop Visiting Nurse Association reports success despite rain on Flower Day with total donations of 410.78 from nine stations. The board approved 100 to start an automobile fund as nurses log April visits, patient types, and clinics, noting convalescent Charles Johnson of Quincy at Charlesgate Hospital.

Winthrop High School June 1923 Commencement
The Winthrop High School commencement for the Class of 1923 was held in the Winthrop Theatre on Wednesday evening June 20 at 8 P M. with 151 graduates the largest class yet. Horace A Magee delivered diplomas as school committee member. Valedictory by Miss Margaret F Sawyer and strong musical numbers followed. The senior class presented a standard moving picture machine, accepted by Joseph L Guidi on behalf of the juniors. The program included the March Colonel Fitch Overture Pique Dame Suppe High School Orchestra N Elliot Willis director Invocation by Rev Ralph M Harper.
