At a Mass Federation of Women's Clubs meeting in Swampscott the Winthrop Woman's Club received a $50 painting for the Art Committee's outstanding work. The piece titled Gaspe Landscape by W Stevens was bought from the Penny Art Fund and will be shown at a club meeting with the Book of Exploits. An open contest earned honorable mention for Mrs. Benjamin Delano’s Scrap Book of Poems for Invalids.

Plan to issue weekly pass with unrestricted rides on Narrow Gauge
A Boston area railroad seeks authority from the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities to issue an unrestricted weekly pass at $1.25 for the Narrow Gauge system. The plan covers Winthrop residents and allows unlimited rides from Sunday 5 a.m. to the following Sunday 5 a.m. The schedule would run June 26 to August 26, with a 15 cent zone offering a round trip for 25 cents.

Burner Explosion Hits Beach Community Building
