Born in Portland Maine he rose from Boston Herald day desk to executive roles at Johnson Educator Cracker Cod Pond Co and later securities firm work. Survived by wife Norah Johnson Barbour he was active in Christian Science and Winthrop church circles and remembered as Captain Myles Standish in H C Wharf pageants. Funeral Sunday at his home with Reader Robert Walsh presiding.
