Nurse H M Davis Resigns From District Post

Mrs H M Davis known as Miss Minnie Pratt of Winthrop resigns after years as district visiting nurse. She will complete January duties and terminate Jan 31 with the Visiting Nurse Association asked to accept her resignation.

Machine Gun Company Vets Elect Officers At Annual Meeting

The second annual meeting of the Machine Gun Company veterans was held at the Knights of Columbus clubroom in Wadsworth Block. Officers for both Administrative and Military units were elected, including Stanley A. Roberts as President and Milton C. Rogers as Commander, reflecting a storied unit with a distinguished Mexico Border service record.

Frederick N Barbour Died After Brief Illness

Frederick N Barbour prominent Highlands citizen died Wednesday evening at six after a brief decline. Born in Portland Maine he rose from Boston Herald day desk to executive roles at Johnson Educator Cracker Cod Pond Co and later securities firm work. Survived by wife Norah Johnson Barbour he was active in Christian Science and Winthrop church circles and remembered as Captain Myles Standish in H C Wharf pageants. Funeral Sunday at his home with Reader Robert Walsh presiding.
