Post Office Employee Down At 95 Bowdoin Street In 1923
William Downes a well known post office worker was found dead at his home 95 Bowdoin Street on Friday December 28. His daughter Dorothy found the door locked and entered through a window. A neighbor and Doctor or police were summoned but Downes died shortly after arrival. The funeral was held Monday with a Mass at St John the Evangelist Church. Interment followed at Holy Cross Cemetery Malden with post office representatives in attendance.
