Two men held on auto larceny charges after Winthrop arrest
Clifton R. Ross 27 of 140 Shirley street and Aubrey G Vars 17 of 229 Shirley street were arraigned in East Boston District Court on larceny of an automobile. Held for a hearing next Monday, they allegedly took Morris H Bendelsen’s car on Hawthorne avenue, removed its plates and placed them on a stolen vehicle, while the Mendelsen plate was discarded. Vars faces additional charges of unlicensed operation and improper registration and insurance.
