The Winthrop Woman's Club welcomed Mrs Harlan T Stetson Education Chairman of the State Federation and Mr Edward R Clarke Superintendent of Winthrop Schools as guests at a Friday afternoon broadcast in Elk's Hall February 18 A brief business meeting preceded the program and committee announcements followed including art music and Friendship Ten plans Contributions were voted to Girl Scouts Community Fund and Winthrop Community Hospital Clarke praised club cooperation with the schools and cited 1928 versus present enrollment trends tied to immigration and marriage trends The program chaired by Mrs Charles M Moore featured a broadcast planning note and the official announcer Mrs Guy Pigeon leading into a two act number continuation on page 8
