Donald Foley fifteen of Winthrop battled a northeast gale to reach Governor's Island and summon help for three marooned companions Edward Fitzgerald seventeen Richard Fitzgerald sixteen and Robert Magee seventeen all from Winthrop. Harbor police boat Argus with officers Werner and Jenkinson then rescued the youths who huddled by a driftwood fire drying soaked clothing.
