Celebrate Golden Wedding of Mr and Mrs Wood
Mr and Mrs William Wood celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Monday February 17 at 270 West, with about two hundred relatives and friends in attendance. Their daughters Mrs Ralph Swain of Brockton and Mrs Preston Chase of Winthrop greeted guests. Mrs Wood wore a white gown with orchid corsage. Mrs Swain wore a pansy shade gown and Mrs Chase wore a mauve velvet dress.

Spanish War Vets In Maine Memorial
On Saturday evening February 15 the George H Russell Camp United Spanish War Veterans assembled to honor comrades who answered the Supreme call at Havana Harbor on February 15, 1898. Under Thomas Donovan in command the marchers and Auxiliary 61 members placed Old Glory and the Standard at Metcalf square and laid a wreath in memory. A eulogy by Past Dept Commander Richard Flynn followed by a prayer from Chaplain Thomas Knudson and Taps before a social hour with hot coffee and light refreshments.
