On Friday February 27 at 8 p m the Winthrop Woman’s Club presents its annual entertainment in the Winthrop Theatre to benefit the Emergency Fund. Katherine Ridgeway opens the program as reader with baritone Alessandro Alberini joining for a varied repertoire.
Winthrop Lodge of Elks will observe Past Exalted Rulers night on Wednesday February 25. Officers will include Dr John J Gibbons Exalted Ruler Frank P Joyce Est Leading Knight Frederick K Strachan Est Loyal Knight Frank Byrne Est Lecture Knight George Clark Inner Guard David Wisely Chaplain Charlie Howard Esquire A social session with music entertainment and refreshments will follow the meeting.

The mid winter reunion of St John of the Evangelist Church members was held Tuesday evening in St John’s Hall Lincoln Avenue, with over 1000 attendees. The event was hosted by the Winthrop Council K of C and the Ladies Sodalities and offered entertainment for all ages.
Enthusiastic turnout for a society reunion with Rev. John H. Griffin Rev. John J. O’Brien and Timothy J. Mahaney as honored guests. Funds will assist Rev. Fr. Griffin as the church undergoes repairs. Grand Knight Daniel J. Honan served as marshal with Deputy Grand Knight Henry L. Tenry and Chancellor John J. Saunt ry assisting.
