Cold Weather Evacuation Efforts Shelter 17 People
Local Public Safety Committee activated under Governor instruction for a cold weather evacuation. At 10:30 Monday night a team including Percy Sterling and Oilmen, police, medical and Red Cross volunteers assembled at the Beach Control Center to assist 17 people, but were stood down as friends and relatives provided care without moving to the Community Building.

Made Honorary Life Member John J Gallagher Sr Honored by Elks
John J Gallagher Sr of Winthrop was made an honorary life member of the local Elks lodge on February 3. A 27 year member, he chaired the house and entertainment committees and served on the board of trustees. A World War I corporal in the Elks Guard he later served as Deputy Sheriff at the Suffolk County Court House in Boston. He lives at 241 Washington Ave. The REVIEW joins friends in paying tribute.
