After two hours of debate the special town meeting approved the Transportation Committee report 163 to 1. The plan includes a modified train and ferry schedule and fare increases to fifteen cents between Winthrop and Orient Heights, with ten cents to Orient Heights and five cents on the ferry. The report notes Narrow Gauge railroad operations under Section 77B of the Federal bankruptcy act and urges maintaining town facilities despite cost savings not guaranteeing continued operation.
