Word reached Sunday morning of the death of former citizen Feri Felix Weiss 54 a Department of Justice agent who helped arrest Dr Karl Muck conductor of the Boston Symphony during World War I He died February 5 in Indiana Harbor Illinois His ashes will be brought here for interment in Winthrop He translated The Tragedy of Man lectured on immigration and served in various veterans groups He lived here many years and wrote The Sieve services Friday at Mt Auburn Crematory and interment at Winthrop Cemetery

Franz Weiss born in Vienna pursued education there before studying at Budapest Royal College. He moved to the United States at 19, worked as an architectural draftsman at General Electric in Schenectady and later in fashion design. He served 13 years as immigration and Chinese inspector in Boston and later became a Department of Justice special agent in 1916. He investigated Dr. Mack and other high‑profile cases, noted for fluency in multiple languages.
