Sledding Accident Injures Local Boy
Herman W. Shaneck Jr., 17, of 381 Winthrop Street, sustained severe injuries in a Saturday hill accident on Hillside Avenue. After two blood transfusions he was reported favorable at Winthrop Community Hospital. Donors William Lehman and William Read, both DeMolay members, volunteered after his surgery for a ruptured spleen.
