Hospital Holds Annual Meeting at Winthrop Community Hospital
The Winthrop Community Hospital held its annual meeting Tuesday evening in Town Hall. Mr. Leslie E. Griffin was unanimously reelected president. New officers include 1st vice president Mrs Harriet D. J K Murray Dies On Way Home In Everett
John K. Murray 75 of 183 Cottage Park Road Winthrop a former light opera baritone and actor died suddenly Wednesday night in the Everett Elevated terminal. He was en route home after leaving Lincoln Junior High School in Malden where he had complained of illness.

Plans Completed For Carnival Ball In Winthrop
Leaders of Winthrop social, fraternity, military and civic groups will receive ticket allotments this week for the Mid Winter Carnival Ball to be held Wednesday evening February 3 at the Copley Plaza Hotel Boston. It is sponsored by the Winthrop Better Publicity Committee headed by Arthur M MacCarthy and endorsed by the Winthrop Board of Selectmen. Dancing runs from nine to one with a floor show at eleven thirty and streamers showered late in the evening.

Indefinite Postponement Of Special Town Meeting
The special town meeting at the Junior High School adjourned without action due to lack of a quorum. About 100 members attended. 127 were needed. A subsequent motion for indefinite postponement was ruled out of order and adjournment was carried. Snow Removal Cost Town About 3300
The blizzard last Wednesday cost the town about 3300 and employed 355 local citizens. Superintendent T J Mahaney and Fritz Westlin led a large crew that kept Winthrop streets open after plows began within hours. Wages totaled 2700 with 600 spent on truck hire as main highways were cleared first and side streets followed.
