Tragic Death of Angus McDonald Shocks Town
The body of Angus T. McDonald was found in Ingleside Park sluiceway. Assistant Medical Examiner Waters ruled accidental drowning with no signs of violence, after autopsy. McDonald lived at 100 Marshall Street. death occurred in three feet of water amid mud in the park.

Winthrop Man With Gen Marsh Returns From Overseas Duty
Private 1st Class William J. Marsh of 24 Lincoln Street Winthrop recently came home from overseas service due to disability from gas exposure at Chateau Thierry Rheumatism from cold damp conditions. He spent nine weeks in hospital missing the St Mihiel and Argonne drives but rejoined his unit on Sunday October 28 the day the 26th Division drove the enemy from Belleau Woods Verdun remaining a short Verdun stay due to the total depletion of his unit.

Private Marsh Discharged After World War I Service
Private Marsh began service with Co A M S G in May 1917, later joined the old 9th M N G, and served with Capt Chas H Cole. He fought at Chemin Des Dames Toul sector Chateau Thierry and Verdun, returned home for discharge after final medical examination on Armistice day minus one. He reunited with his Winthrop Machine Gun Co in the Toul sector and is now resting and recovering from wartime ordeals.

Mrs. Mabelle Spindler Babcock died January 25 at 3 Sturgis St Winthrop after a week of illness. She was 38 and leaves a husband and her mother. Funeral services were held Tuesday at St Johns Episcopal Church at 2 p.m. Interment was in Winthrop Cemetery.

Roan and Floyd wed in town ceremony

First Greek Wedding in Winthrop Reported
The first known Greek wedding in Winthrop occurred last Sunday at 308 Bowdoin Street, as Miss Carnella Papouleas wed Mike Demarkelly of Boston. Native Grecian customs were observed, couple left at 10 p.m. for a trip and plan to reside at 15 Harvard Street, Allston after returning.

Jeffery Case Postponed After Guilty Plea
Herbert F. Jeffery of Revere pleaded guilty to larceny in court and the case was continued until Feb. 17 upon request. Lieut. James H. Douglas, who led the investigation, reports about 1500 dollars worth of property recovered.
