Miss Clintie A Emery longtime third grade teacher in Winthrop and South Lyndeboro New Hampshire died suddenly at her home Wednesday after returning from Christmas holidays. She taught in Winthrop since 1896 and was highly regarded by students and colleagues. She is survived by a brother Harley E Emery of South Lyndeboro. Funeral held Friday at 2 pm in South Lyndeboro with burial there.

A Winthrop Fire Department chief and a regular firefighter were assisting a local doctor to revive a woman overcome by gas when the chief's white helmet and another firefighter's helmet were stolen.
