Principal Orrin C. Davis and Assistant Principal Ralph L. Duplin of Winthrop High School will depart for naval service. Davis, after 19 years at Winthrop, is to report January 2 to Ohio State University for a training indoctrination. Duplin awaits forthcoming orders as both men are sworn in as Navy Reserve Air Corps lieutenants.

The extension does not alter entitlements. callers must obtain coupons from the Rationing Board to receive their quota, and unused coupons cannot be exchanged or used after the new date. Ration Book 2 introduces a Point System for related commodities, changing how scarce items are purchased and tracked per month.

Miss Kershaw Sworn Into WAVES Navy Reserve
Kershaw, daughter of Mr and Mrs James Kershaw of 53 Crest Ave Winthrop, was sworn into the WAVES last Saturday. She will begin basic training in Oklahoma around mid January. Her brother James serves in the Army at New Caledonia, among the first US troops to land there last March.
